Lead Coach
Football Focus DC – Faringdon Development Centre
Overview
Football Focus DC is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and driven Lead Coach to deliver high-quality football training sessions and support the development of players across our programmes. This role is ideal for an experienced coach who is confident planning and leading sessions, inspiring players, and creating a positive learning environment.
As a Lead Coach, you will take responsibility for delivering engaging and structured training sessions, monitoring player progress, and representing the high standards of Football Focus DC.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality individual and group training sessions
Lead training sessions that are engaging, challenging, and tailored to player needs
Create a positive, energetic, and disciplined learning environment
Monitor player development and provide constructive feedback to support improvement
Adapt session content to suit different ages, abilities, and learning styles
Ensure all sessions are delivered safely, professionally, and on schedule
Manage training equipment and session organisation before, during, and after training
Support and mentor Assistant Coaches where required
Build positive relationships with players, parents, and fellow coaches
Uphold the values and coaching philosophy of Football Focus DC at all times
Requirements
Strong passion for football coaching and player development
Confident leading and managing football training sessions independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, professional, and highly organised
Ability to work with youth players of varying ages and abilities
Positive attitude and commitment to continuous development
Desirable (not essential):
Previous coaching experience within grassroots, academy, or development environments
FA and/or UEFA Coaching Qualifications (or working towards them)
First Aid and Safeguarding certification
Experience mentoring or supporting other coaches
